Bridge on 362nd Avenue is now officially closed
JACKSON COUNTY — A bridge on 362nd Avenue (County Road Z15) closed for replacement as of April 8.
The closure is expected to last about four months. A signed detour route is posted.
The project is part of a planned bridge replacement between Springbrook and Bellevue.
County officials previously said the detour will route traffic east from Springbrook on E17 to Z34 (the Preston highway), then north to U.S. Highway 52.
The Jackson County Board of Supervisors awarded the construction contract in June 2025 to Jim Schroeder Construction of Bellevue for about $838,700, which came in below initial estimates. Work had been timed to begin in spring 2026 to avoid a winter closure.
County Engineer Jayden Scheckel has said the project is expected to take roughly 80 working days. As part of the work, the contractor will also apply dust control to about 3 miles of gravel on 375thAvenue, which is expected to see increased local traffic during the closure.
